Scots stick with winning squad for Hong Kong double header

-

Grant Bradburn is backing his same-again Scots to finish their season on a high by lifting the Braidwood Cup against Hong Kong, writes William Dick.

The national coach has picked the same players who recently claimed two World Cricket League wins over UAE for next week’s one-day international double header at the Grange.

Skipper Preston Mommsen, opener Kyle Coetzer and Durham star Calum Macleod all scored centuries against the Emirates and Bradburn said: “We’re going into the series with lots of players in form and we are eager to finish the home season on a positive note.

“We have seen huge benefits this summer from training hard as a wider squad and we now have more players than ever contesting selection in the national team.

“We love playing at the Grange where we were treated to brilliant one-day pitches for the UAE series and I sense a real determination to both perform and entertain.

“Hong Kong look to play dynamic white ball cricket too, so this series will be a tough test that we are desperate to win.”

Durham pace bowler Gavin Main is available for the second of the ODI encounters against Hong Kong – the only addition to the squad that faced UAE.
