Harry can go the distance

- By GLENDALE

Unowhatimeanharry sidestepped a run at Haydock last week on account of the deep ground and that can prove a fortunate development as he holds an excellent chance in the bet365 Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury.

The Grade Two event has a new home on the first day of the Hennessy meeting this year, so Harry Fry’s charge will not have to share the limelight if he can score over three miles.

The eight-year-old brings Grade One form to the table having won the Albert Bartlett at the Festival back in March, with that victory really putting the seal on an excellent campaign. He started last term on a mark of 123 after previously racing for Helen Nelmes, but a change of scenery seemingly worked the oracle as he went on to win each of his five outings, culminating in a game Cheltenham success.

Stamina is certainly his forte and while it would be reasonable to expect Unowhatimeanharry to perhaps come on for a run, he should still be sharp enough to make his presence felt in a race that doesn’t look to be too deep.

Knockgraffon should be firing on all cylinders after a previous run and he can lift the bet365 Chase for Dan Skelton. Third on his chasing bow at Carlisle last month, he just ran out of gas in the closing stages and should rank much higher in due course.

Drumlee Sunset should take the beating in the Ice Cream Direct Handicap Chase at Doncaster, with King Of The Wolds expected to go well in the Kelly’s Of Cornwall Handicap Chase.

Dutch Destiny let down favourite-backers last time out but can redeem herself in the 32Red.com Fillies’ Conditions Stakes at Wolverhampton and book her place for All-weather Finals Day.
