Man held in connection with alleged sexual assault

A man has been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl in a town centre park.

The 15-year-old was in Robertson Park, Renfrew, at about 10:45pm on Monday, 14 November when a man started speaking to her.

He then allegedly sexually assaulted her before she left the park and contacted police.

Police Scotland said a 30-year-old man has been arrested and is being detained in police custody in connection with the incident.

He is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
