Police not to blame for tower block deaths

- By ANGUS HOWARTH

Police officers have been cleared of any blame after an investigation into how three people died in an incident at an Aberdeen tower block.

Tracy Gabriel, 40, and Keith Taylor, 43, were found dead in a high-rise flat at Donside Court in the Tillydrone area on 19 July last year.

Hugh Gallacher then fell to his death shortly after police arrived. The 56-year-old is believed to have stabbed Ms Gabriel and Mr Taylor to death.

The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner submitted a report on the case.

The Crown Office said in a statement: “After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, the Procurator Fiscal concluded that no further investigation is required.

“We have contacted families and offered to discuss the matter.”
