Appeal after boy, 9, hurt in hit-and-run

Police in Edinburgh have issued a fresh appeal for information after a hit-and-run collision in Gilmerton.

The incident occurred at about 8.40am on Thursday, 16 March on Hyvot Loan at the junction with Hyvot Mill Drive.

A nine-year-old boy was injured after his bike was involved in a collision with a car, which failed to stop.

Officers believe the vehicle was a dark-coloured 08 or 09 Ford Focus. The male driver is described as white, between 40 and 50 with dark hair.
