Big turn-out for protest against maternity cuts

-

Hundreds of people took part in a protest in Wick to campaign against health cuts across hospitals in Caithness.

Campaigner group Caithness Health Action Team organised the event at the town’s Bignold Park yesterday afternoon, asking local people to make a visible show of how hospitals in Caithness have helped them.

Residents in the far north are particularly angry at plans to downgrade maternity services at Caithness General Hospital which would see services transferred to Inverness’s Raigmore Hospital.
