Operator dies after incident at quarry

A man has been crushed to death while working at a quarry in the Highlands.

Pawel Kocik, 34, a machine operator, died after suffering injuries at Leiths’ Kishorn Quarry in Wester Ross.

He succumbed to chest injuries during the incident last Wednesday.

Police Scotland and the Health and Safety Executive have begun an inquiry. A crowdfunding page has also been launched to raise money to help Mr Kocik’s wife, Karolina, and five-year-old daughter Julia.
