Reform drug laws

I was saddened to read that LSD advocate Nicholas Sand has passed away (Scotsman Obituaries, 20 May).

Nicholas was truly a doyen, supplying LSD to users wishing exceptional experiences and more importantly, in the treatment of depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD and pain relief when so many other alternatives have been tried and failed.

Any substance, of course, can be dangerous when used irresponsibly but when psychedelics are used with care they are relatively safe. In studies they are more often than not rated far less harmful than alcohol and tobacco.
