-

after reports of an incident just hours after the suicide attack in the city – the centre was the target of the IRA bomb attack in 1996 Tollcross in Glasgow. “My boyfriend and I were sitting on the ground floor quite close to the stage.

“Everyone just stopped and the place was silent for about two or three seconds until fans from the upper tier started screaming and running. That’s when we knew something was up.”

Abby Mullen from North Lanarkshire had left the concert before the final song and was just yards from the suicide bomber.

She wrote on Facebook: “I thought we would leave seconds before the last song finished in order to get home quicker instead of waiting longer for a taxi. As we were leaving a bomb or explosion went off metres in front of me.

“People’s skin, blood and faeces were everywhere including in my hair and on my bag. I’m still finding bits of god knows what in my hair.”

She added: “I am fine and back in my hotel. I hope everyone involved and in front of me is OK.”

Lucy Haggerty, 14, had travelled down to Manchester to see her idol with her mum Louise.

“About 30 seconds after the house lights came on, there was a massive bang. It was the scariest moment of my life,” she said.

“The area around us was foggy, my heart sank and my first thought was that someone had shot Ariana, but then I realised what was happening.

“Everyone just stopped for a second and started screaming.”

She added: “People were climbing on top of each other, jumping down tiers, climbing barriers and trying to get out the doors as fast as they could.

“At that point I thought I was going to die. I just kept waiting for the whole place to be blown up.

“Everyone was just caring about themselves, barging through and standing on top of each other.

“There were some points I thought I was going to lose my mum, but we somehow managed to stick together.”

Eck Macdonald was outside the venue waiting to collect his fiancee Emma Christie and two young children.

“At first everyone just looked confused and it was only when there was a second explosion that panic broke out and everyone started running,” the 32-yearold from Kirkcaldy said.

“I could see into the building up the stairs and it was just total chaos with people screaming and running down them and children crying.”
