Queen Kindly tipped to reign

-

Richard Fahey’s Queen Kindly, winner of last season’s Group 2 Lowther Stakes at York, bids for the Listed £50,000 Scottish Sun/british Stallion Studs EBF Land O’burns Fillies

Stakes at Ayr, writes Iain

Ferguson.

The Frankel filly is the highest rated horse among the 12 runners in the contest which has attracted entries from leading southern trainers including Robert Cowell’s Shrill and Cosmopolitan Girl.

Local hopes are carried by Glenrowan Rose from the Carluke stable of Keith Dalgleish and Mayleaf Shine, trained near Dumfries by Iain Jardine. Both horses will be big prices but the latter in particular may run a big race.

The main supporting race of the afternoon is The Scottish Sun On Sunday Champion Handicap for the Johnstone Rose Bowl where the top weight is the two-time course winner Sophie P.

Her most recent run last month was second to Nezwaah in the Listed Rothesay Stakes at Ayr and a repeat of that form would see her go very close.
