Energy firm in new jobs target
Gas and electricity supplier Together Energy is aiming to increase its workforce by 50 per cent by the end of the year after already creating almost 40 jobs since its launch last year.
The Clydebank-based energy firm is looking to take on an additional 20 staff, mainly in customer service roles.
Together Energy now supplies nearly 6,000 households across the UK, generating a turnover of £5.4 million.
The latest recruitment drive comes as the company plans to more than double its customer base to hit around 15,000 after its first 12 months in operation. In the next three years it aims to secure 100,000 customers, with forecasted revenues of £80m.
The company was founded by energy industry executives Paul Richards and Geoff Guenther, who raised £325,000 of initial investment between them with support from a private investor.
Richards said: “Since getting underway less than a year ago, we’ve seen strong growth and solidified our position a lot more quickly than expected. That’s helped us get to this next phase of expansion, ramping up our marketing efforts and looking to renew our first tranche of customers.”
Last month another Scottish-based independent supplier, Spark Energy, secured an exclusive deal with Sky TV to offer customers packages to match the length of their tenancies.
The Selkirk-based independent energy supplier said the tie-up, via its recent Home Telecom acquisition, extends its offering to letting sector customers to electricity and gas supply, broadband, fixed and mobile phone and Sky TV. Home Telecom was acquired in May in Spark’s first acquisition since its 2016 management buyout.
