Murder inquiry after ‘brazen attack’ in park
A murder inquiry has been launched after a “brazen attack” on a man in South Lanarkshire park.
The 43-year-old’s body was found in John Hastie Park, Strathaven, at 1:30pm on Tuesday. He was treated by paramedics for his injuries but died at the scene. Police Scotland yesterday named the victim as Jason Mccue, of East Kilbride.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal following the attack.
Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Mark Bell said: “At this time, we believe that the man who died was the intended target.”
