Speaking of MPS
I would have thought that all the new eager Scottish MPS would be full of questions and be speaking out on important issues but since the general election, SNP MPS remain the most active group of MPS at Westminster. They asked a total of 379 Written Parliamentary Questions with an average of 11 per MP. This compared to just 47 from Scottish Tory MPS (fewer than 4 per
MP), 18 from Scottish Labour MPS (fewer than 3 per MP), and just 3 from Scottish Lib Dem MPS (less than 1 per MP).
With no new Tory MP considered good enough to assist David Mundell, it is hardly surprising that Theresa May didn’t know that the Scottish Parliament has no power to assist the “Waspi” women who aren’t getting their pension as it can only top-up reserved benefits but not create new pensions or benefits.
Meanwhile, it transpires that Scottish Conservatives leader Ruth Davidson has held just one constituency surgery in the 13 months since she was elected MSP for Edinburgh Central. Is it not time the Tories started to get on with their day jobs?
