V&A apologises to breastfeeding mum
The Victoria and Albert Museum has apologised after a mother said she was asked to “cover up” while breastfeeding on a visit to the London attraction.
The woman said she was “perplexed” and “stunned into silence” by the request given the number of naked female statues in the museum’s exhibitions.
The museum has now said it is investigating the incident.
It said: “Women are welcome to breastfeed in the museum and we have quiet spaces for those who prefer privacy.”
