Intercontinental: no early morning alarm call as hotel profits climb 8%
Intercontinental Hotels Group, whose portfolio includes the Hotel Indigo in Edinburgh’s Princes Street, pictured, has seen operating profits rise 8 per cent to $370 million (£335m) in the first six months of 2017. Revenues in the period lifted 2 per cent to $857m. Keith Barr, Intercontinental Hotels Group’s new chief executive, said that revenue per available room – a key industry metric – rose 2.1 per cent in the period.
