#JAMESCORDEN

The British comic, who has broken America as a latenight chat show host, has been criticised on both sides of the pond for cosying up to former Trump Adminstration official Sean Spicer at the Emmy Awards last night. @Chrisbrosnahan wrote: “America, you touched James Corden last. We’re not taking him back.” @Dpjhodges countered: “This is what I meant about culture wars. To be a true progressive, you now have to hate James Corden.” @Snockard warned: “Don’t share a carpool karoake video again. James Corden is OK with the guy who attacked the 1st Amendement and said Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons.”

#INDYREF

Yesterday was three years to the day since Scotland’s independence referendum, in which the country voted to remain a part of the UK by a margin of 55-45. @Radgecase tweeted: “Three years on from indyref and I’m having a hard time thinking of an aspect of British life that hasn’t gotten significantly worse since.” @Rossthomson_mp demanded: “Three years ago the people of Scotland decided unequivocally to stay within the UK. The result should be respected and Indyref2 ditched.” @Jakejohnstone revealed: “Three years ago I fully supported Scotland staying in. On Indyref anniversary, can I say I couldn’t have been more misguided. Time for Indyref2.” @Couper40 commented: “Both Willie Rennie and Anas Sarwar today announced there would be no new indyref. The people of Scotland will decide this, not politicians.”

#SCOTCLIMATEWEEK

Scotland is still pursuing a goal of being a world leader in battling climate change, and a week-long series of events is designed to get people thinking about their impact on the environment. @Est_scotland advised: “Walking or cycling to work once a week could save you £115 on fuel and 250kg CO2 ayear–whynotgiveitago during #Scotclimateweek.” @Theecology_1 wrote: “Climate week is on from 18-22 September. We’re doing something every day to help raise awareness of climate change.” @Skillsdevscot added: “We are proud to be supporting #Scotclimateweek and are committed to reducing our carbon footprint across Scotland.”
