Skoda confirms prices and specs for Karoq SUV

Skoda has confirmed that its new Karoq SUV will be priced from £20,875 when UK order books open on October 3. Three trim levels will be available from launch – entrylevel SE grade, followed by SE L and the range-topping Edition model. Customers will be able to choose between four engine options, made up of two petrol and two diesel units. Power output ranges from 113bhp to 148bhp. All engines are available with an optional seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, while the most powerful 148bhp diesel is also available with four-wheel drive. Standard specificat­ion on the basic SE models include 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, LED rear lights and dual-zone climate control. There’s also an impressive range of safety systems, including front assist, pedestrian monitoring and a driver fatigue sensor. Prices for the SE with a 113bhp petrol engine start at £20,875. Moving up the range, the Karoq SE L costs from £23,165. The trim level adds 18-inch alloys, an Amundsen sat nav system with eight-inch touchscree­n, keyless entry, heated front seats and rear parking camera. The flagship Karoq Edition features 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, metallic paint and leather upholstery as standard. There’s also the top-of-the-line Columbus sat nav system with a 9.2-inch display. Safety equipment has also been improved, with lane assist, blind spot protection and traffic sign recognitio­n. Prices for the Karoq Edition start at £27,110 for the 148bhp petrol model, and rise to £31,690 for the fourwheel-drive 148bhp diesel model with a DSG gearbox.
