The Chicago Cubs kept their title hopes alive in a nail- biting match against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Cubs had been 3- 0 down going into game four of the best- of- seven National League Championship Series. However, Chicago posted a thrilling 3- 2 victory over the Dodgers at Wrigley Field. Pitcher Jake Arrieta produced an impressive performance, while Willson Contreras smashed a 491- foot homer and Javier Baez hit two solo shots. Meanwhile, a third straight win for the New York Yankees put them just one game away from their first trip to the World Series since 2009. The team recorded a 5- 0 victory against the Houston Astros, to put them 3- 2 ahead after game five of the best- of- seven American League Championship Series. Greg Bird started the damage with a second- inning RBI single, while Aaron Judge ripped a run- scoring double down the left- field line in the third inning. Pitcher Masahiro Tanaka also produced a dominant performance. Game five of the ALCS is at Minute Maid Park, Houston, tonight.
