Pedestrian badly hurt in hit-and-run

A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Edinburgh.

The incident happened on Gorgie Road at around 9:20am last Friday.

A woman had just got off a bus opposite Costa Coffee and was crossing the road when she was hit by a car, suffering serious foot injuries.

The man behind the wheel pulled over, but then drove off before police arrived.

Officers urged those with information to contact the Road Policing Unit via 101 and quote incident number 837.
