Police look into ‘corrupt’ trams payment claims
Detectives said they are investigating Edinburgh’s controversial tram project.
Police Scotland confirmed they are looking into comments made at Thursday’s Edinburgh trams inquiry where it was alleged a witness had knowledge of “corrupt payments” being made or solicited.
Former Lothian Buses boss Neil Renilson claimed in evidence to have information about the allegations and agreed to share that with the inquiry.
Lord Hardie told those assembled he wanted to learn more about the matter before allowing it to be shared in public. The inquiry has paused for the festive break.
