‘You’re both hired’ in Apprentice’s shock twist

- By DALE MILLER

Two winners were crowned in the Apprentice last night for the first time in the reality TV show’s history.

In a surprise twist, Lord Alan Sugar announced that he would “double” his investment by going into a business partnership with both finalists James White and Sarah Lynn in the finale of the 13th series.

“I’m a gambler and I’ve always been a gambler in business,” Lord Sugar said.

“This particular year I’m going to double my investment. I’m going to start a business with both of you.”

The pair had gone head to head in presenting their business plans to more than 200 experts as part of the BBC series’ final episode.

They were asked to create a video advert and a billboard for their companies.

Both winners pocketed £250,000 worth of investment and a 50 per cent stake in their business with Lord Sugar.

Mr White, a 26-yearold from Birmingham, was pitching to run an IT recruitment firm. On finding out he was a joint winner, Mr White said: “I won’t let you down Lord Sugar. It means the world to me.”

Ms Lynn, 35, owns a confectionery business selling sweets in London.

She earned praise during the final from Lord Sugar for overhauling her company name overnight following concerns about her pitch, coming up with the tagline ‘Sweeteze’.

Ms Lynn had earlier said it was “incredible” to “survive” the penultimate interview episode, which has become a fan favourite for its ruthless take down of contestants.
