Rescue needed as climbers go without ropes
Two climbers who were not using ropes have been rescued from a mountain in the Cairngorms.
The men called 999 after becoming stuck on Jacob’s Ladder, near Aviemore, at about 4pm on Saturday. The climbers were stranded 600ft from the ground.
Twenty four members of Cairngorm Mountain Rescue team were called out.
Team leader Willie Anderson said the route had been upgraded to a grade three winter climb due to recent weather conditions.
Climbers usually need to have ropes with them for that level.
