Strictly Come Dancing champion Joe Mcfadden has claimed his dance partner Katya Jones deserved to win the show and said that he is “jealous” of her future celebrity co-stars.

Their win during Saturday night’s live final marked the first time professional dancer Jones, who was last year partnered with Ed Balls, had triumphed on the series.

Mcfadden told ITV’S Lorraine: “[Jones] is unbelievable. She was so happy and I’m so happy for her because she literally dragged me through kicking and screaming and 0 Strictly Come Dancing winner Joe Mcfadden she’s amazing.” Mcfadden said the dances devised by Jones were “just the perfect routines at the perfect time”.

He said her impressive dress change during their show- dance in the live final was “like magic in front of your eyes”.

Speaking of the couple’s memorable lever-style lift from the semi-final, Mcfadden said: “She’s so good at those iconic moves and bringing out the right thing at the right time.”

The Holby City actor said on Jones’s future on the show: “I’m jealous of all the partners she is going to have because they’re all going to do well.

“She wouldn’t have it any other way … and she comes up with these iconic moves.”

Referring to one of her standout dances from last year’s series with Balls, he added: “People are always going to be talking about Gangnam Style.”
