Aberdeen Luckless Dons

- Steve Wilson

While the result may not have differed from previous meetings the performance was better and luck, as the manager observed, played a part in the outcome. When playing against Celtic luck can be all important.

The financial gulf in Scottish football between Celtic and the other teams is such that points against Celtic can be considered a bonus as the bread and butter of our season will be the results against the other ten teams. The chairman recently confirmed that major squad surgery was not planned in January and that is unlikely to change, unexpected injuries aside. In saying that, the manager has not been adverse to a surprise addition in January on a short-term deal and dropped points before the break might see a fresh face come 1 February.
