Bookings boost: Travel firm Barrhead reports ‘significant’ take-off
Barrhead Travel has seen a “significant” increase in 2018 bookings, showing a year-onyear jump of about a fifth for summer trips. The familyowned business said the US remains popular, while Asia is continuing to grow in popularity, with bookings to Japan up 139 per cent, for example. It also highlighted summer 2018 cruise bookings rising by nearly a quarter. The firm’s chief executive, Sharon Munro, said: “Despite the uncertainty caused by Brexit, holidays remain a priority for many families across the country.”
