Morton Tiffoney and Co
Don’t you just love a derby game? Another pulsating Renfrewshire joust on Tuesday ended with both sides having to settle for a point. It was certainly a game of two halves, with St Mirren dominating the opening 45 minutes.
Greenock-born Lewis Morgan deservedly put the visitors ahead at the break. But the introduction of Scott Tiffoney offered more width to the Morton attack. That change proved key as the Ton dominated the second 45. And in the 80th minute, the hosts drew level.
Captain Thomas O’ware rose highest from a Tiffoney corner to send the home fans into raptures. The point helps Morton continue to push for the play-offs while maintaining the upper hand in this year’s derbies.
