Woman passenger attacked with bottle on train

- By GRAEME MURRAY

Police have appealed for information after a man shouted abuse at a female train passenger before throwing a bottle of beer at her.

The incident happened on 22 December when a group of men boarded a service at Anniesland station in Glasgow at about 5:25pm.

One of the men approached the victim on the train and started verbally harassing her.

When he was getting off the train with the rest of the group of men at Drumchapel he threw a bottle of beer at his victim. Police said the bottle hit her on the shoulder.

The man then shouted sexual comments at his victim from the platform which police said caused the woman “great distress”.

British Transport Police described the man as white, in his late teens and around 5ft 10in in height. He was wearing a black beanie hat, black jogging top and bottoms and Air Max-style trainers.

A BTP spokesman said: “We will not stand for this kind of behaviour.

“If you have any information, please contact BTP as soon as possible.”
