Brewdog staff rise to the top with key industry qualification
Maverick beer-maker Brewdog can lay claim to the most knowledgeable staff in the business after announcing that all of its workers have achieved a key industry qualification.
The Ellon-headquartered firm, which has become a global force in the craft brewing revolution, said all 700 of its staff have achieved the certified beer server qualification after passing the first stage of the rigorous Cicerone certification programme.
The programme has become the industry standard for identifying those with significant knowledge and professional skills in beer sales and service.
The milestone means that every Brewdog employee is knowledgeable across a wide range of topics including keeping and serving beer, the brewing process and ingredients, beer styles and evaluation.
Each member of staff who gains the certified beer server qualification receives an increase in pay, which is further increased for every additional tier of the certification program that they pass.
Brewdog said it was also finalising a proposal to enrol thousands of its “Equity for Punks” investors to the certified beer server exam.
