Healthy glow: Lighting installation created by locals to greet patients at new NHS centre in Edinburgh
Artist-in-residence Lindsay Perth puts the final touches to a lighting installation at the new Pennywell All Care Centre in Edin burgh, which was created by local people and NHS Lothian staff. Sited in the two-storey atrium entrance of the health centre, it features 52 hand-blown glass shapes suspended from the ceiling with LED lights that react to movement. They were created at workshops in the glass department of Edinburgh College of Art. Members of the Gless Hoose Collective involved engraved their signatures on their creations to underline the artworks’ sense of local identity.
