-

What do fracking supporters need as evidence that this is a dangerous and unneeded technology? The greater good argument has been thwarted many time by scientists, economists and environmentalists. Carbon based fuels are finished, it’s only the timescale that is up for argument. - Iain Buchanan You can’t ban anything indefinitely, that implies that we live in a totalitarian state. Any ban, including a fracking ban, can and should be easily overturned by any future government. That’s what democracy is all about. - Francis Ferguson Germany has banned fracking, decided to close all atomic power stations and on 1 January was “heated” 100 per cent by green energy solely. Biggest competitor is Scotland. - Yessie Nessie Because we ban one thing, fracking, we’ve become anti science? Nonsense. - Bill Longmuir The public purse needs to be protected from possible environmental consequences of fracking. These should be costed and robustly insured by the company responsible. - Help Maboab
