New CEO named for Scottish fintech body
The first chief executive of a new organisation aimed at helping Scotland’s fintech sector flourish has been named.
Stephen Ingledew, who has previously worked for major industry players including Standard Life and Barclays as well as a number of smaller enterprises, will head up Edinburgh-based Fintech Scotland which has been established by the Scottish Government, Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE) and the University of Edinburgh.
Ingledew said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead Fintech Scotland and help assert our capability as a leading and thriving fintech environment. The fusion of financial services and technology can deliver the economic benefits of growth and productivity, and the social benefits of employment opportunities and better consumer outcomes.”
