#INDYREF2

Nicola Sturgeon has revealed that she will make a decision towards the end of this year whether or not to push forward with a second Scottish independence referendum. Unsurprisingly opinion differed. @Michaelsher1dan said: “Dear @Nicolasturgeon we said No in 2014, we meant it. We’ve had enough of your #indyref2 rubbish. Do Your Day Job.” @meljomur shared: “The UK is doomed. The opposition is every bit as incompetent as the actual government. I’m so happy I live in Scotland. Can we have #indyref2 now, and leave England to it.” @agcolehamilton noted: “Meanwhile in #Scotland, we have falling educating standards, an NHS staffing crisis & 2yr waits for children seeking mental health treatment. @thesnp govt is guilty of a monstrous dereliction of duty caused by its obsession with independence.”

#HAWAII

Residents of Hawaii were sent into a panic after officials accidentally sent an emergency alert warning of a “ballistic missile threat”. It took officials 30 minutes to send a correction. @Orpheus_black shared: “My son texted me from Hawaii. It was a simple text. ‘I love you’ but I knew something was up. I googled #hawaii and almost lost my mind.” @Jjspaun posted: “In a basement under hotel. Barely any service. Can you send confirmed message over radio or tv” @Shimmyrunner tweeted: “My sister in Hawaii texted me a picture of her and her kids huddled in a closet during their false alarm nuclear strike this morning. Crazy.”

#UKIP

UK Independence Party leader Henry Bolton’s partner, Jo Marney, made a series of racist and Islamophobic comments in a private message exchange. Many are calling for Bolton to step down. @Mrharrycole acknowledged: “Can’t see how Bolton survives this.” @michaelsavage joked: “To be fair, Henry Bolton has had a pretty good innings for a Ukip leader – he’s been there over three months now.” @piersmorgan tweeted: “It’s the seed that produced this repulsive racist monster which taints Britain. Shameful.”
