Everyone was bracing themselves yesterday for the arrival of the ‘Beast from the East’, a Siberian front that is threatening to bring snow, ice and sub-zero temperatures to Scotland. It is expected to hit the British Isles next Monday. @jaffcakejake12 said: “Can’t wait maybe as good as 2010” @Ianbarrett911 said: “It’s totally to early to call. Plenty of time for a total no-show. We’ve got to get to Fridays models really before there is any certainty.” @Thehairyhaggis said: “Put simply, this is just remarkable! Unprecedented in the modern era for the longevity, the depth of cold and snow and the implications across the country, especially the East.”

KFC has made headlines this week, after a number of stores across Scotland and the rest of the UK were forced to close due to a severe chicken shortage. KFC explained it was a result of bringing “a new delivery partner on board”. @Maxbevis said: “Our parents lived through the Cold War and the fear of nuclear bombs. Our grandparents had the Nazis and WWII. This generation loses its **** because it can’t buy a Zinger Tower Meal from ******* KFC” @Harryhomangreen said: “To that person who got the final ever #KFC bargain bucket, good luck my friend!” @Jackfrost1706 said: “KFC runs out of chicken. Why don’t they sell limited edition Kentucky fried pigeon instead”

A disappointing Winter Olympics for Scots speed skater Elise Christie came to an end yesterday as she was disqualified from the 1000m heats. You’re obviously destined for Beijing in 4yrs. We will all be behind you. Good luck for the next 4yrs”
