Wood brothers strike deal for seven pubs
Edinburgh-based Signature Pub Group, owner of The Huxley in the city’s West End, has bolstered its portfolio with the acquisition of seven establishments.
The firm has bought the Auld Hundred in Edinburgh, Nox and Paramount in Aberdeen and the Boozy Cows in Edinburgh, Dundee, Stirling and Aberdeen from Speratus Group, it was confirmed yesterday.
Financial details have not been disclosed. The owners of the two businesses are also brothers – Nic Wood (Signature Pubs) and Garreth Wood (Speratus Group).
Founded in 2003, Signature has an established portfolio of 14 pubs, hotels and restaurants across Scotland, also including The Basement and St Andrews’ West Port bar.
Nic Wood said: “This is an exciting deal for both parties and the acquisition has been a very natural progression. The Speratus Group consists of great units, in great locations.
“We are now an independent pub company of 21 sites across Scotland. Signature will continue to deliver exceptional customer experiences in hospitality – an industry we know and love – and to drive for success with focus and determination as a new team.”
He said the deal offered an opportunity to “further enhance efficiencies whilst minimising operational changes as the businesses are already so closely aligned.”
Signature said it has two other large projects in the pipeline as well as further refurbishments planned on the back of the latest deal.
The group also owns The Rutland Hotel in Edinburgh. 0 Nic Wood – ‘exciting deal for both parties’
