New SNH chief gets on her bike for staff
The new chief executive of national nature agency Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) has set out on a 1,300-mile tour to meet staff teams stationed across the country.
It may sound unremarkable, but Francesca Osowska, who took up the role at the end of last year, is travelling by bike.
She will visit offices as far afield as Dumfries, the Borders, Shetland and the Outer Hebrides during the meetand-greet mission, while simultaneously raising money for a mental health charity.
The 47-year-old, an amateur triathlete, set off yesterday from Galashiels, before arriving in Edinburgh at the end of the day. Today she is heading for Hamilton and then Clydebank tomorrow.
She plans to complete the challenge in seven five-day legs, visiting at least 35 offices and finishing off at the agency’s headquarters in Inverness on 12 October.
