Baby with umbilical cord left at hospital

A “recently-born” baby boy was abandoned in the waiting room of a hospital with part of the umbilical cord still attached.

The baby was found yesterday in the emergency department of Jersey General Hospital in St Helier. The baby was medically assessed and described as “fit and well” but police are urging the boy’s mother to come forward.
