NEW GUYS IN TOWN
In February, Tales of the Cocktail Foundation board members Gary Solomon Jr and Neal Bodenheimer finalised the purchase of the annual cocktail and spirits convention.
Solomon Jr is head of New Orleans production company the Solomon Group, who work with major festivals such as Lollapalooza and the Super Bowl; Bodenheimer is proprietor of New Orleans cocktail lounges Cure and Cane & Table.
Solomon Jr and Bodenheimer are determined that all guests attending have the best time possible at the event.
Co-chairman Solomon Jr says, “We’ve been looking for an event that makes a lasting impact on people’s lives.
“We encourage everyone and anyone in the city to buy a ticket for our events and seminars, not only to support Edinburgh’s booming cocktail scene, but to learn for yourself about the wonderful world of drinks.
“Our seminars are designed to teach people the wonders of spirits and also take a look behind the scenes of one of the biggest industries in the world.
“We will also be unveiling a series of new events to ticket holders throughout the city – from guest bartender experiences to private parties. We aim to showcase the cocktail culture of Edinburgh through the brilliant bars and restaurants that make the city legendary.”
Under the new leadership of Bodenheimer, Solomon Jr, and Caroline Rosen, Tales of the Cocktail on Tour – Edinburgh is committed to championing the rich cocktail culture of Edinburgh and supporting the local hospitality professionals that enable the beverage industry to grow and thrive across all of Scotland. To best accomplish this mission, the team has engaged The 100 Scots as a community partner for Tales of the Cocktail Foundation. Together, the two entities will allocate $25,000 to benefit the local bar and spirits community – to protect members’ and industry interests; cultivate national and international perceptions of Scotland; and principally, to uphold and safeguard the future of the industry for everyone.
