#BORISJOHNSON

After Boris Johnson called Labour’s Emily Thornberry “Baroness Nugee” in reference to her husband, House of Commons Speaker John Bercow dressed down the Foreign Secretary, calling it “inappropriate and frankly sexist”. Bercow was applauded by MPS. @Lizmcinnes_mp wrote: “@Borisjohnson just got an absolute pasting from Mr Speaker for referring to the Shadow Foreign Secretary as “Lady Nugee”. About time his sexism was called out.” @alexshillig said: “Entirely agree that Johnson’s ‘Lady Nugee’ remark to Emily Thornberry was sexist. Worth remembering though that May has referred to her as such on more than one occasion and never been pulled up on it by Speaker.” @Shera_marley added: “Thank God for John Bercow. Emily Thornberry has her own name.”

#MARKZUCKERBERG

Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg has refused to face British MPS over the alleged misuse of data. @jorgecalienes said: “I have a tough time seeing Mark Zuckerberg as a true ‘leader’ if when faced with adversity, he cowards away like a squirrel. Take accountability.” @peoples_pundit wrote: “Mark Zuckerberg’s favourability ratings have completely plummeted. He will not be mounting any challenge to anyone in 2020.” @Justinhendrix posted: “It’s a travesty. He should be ashamed.”

#MANCHESTERARENA

A report into the Manchester Arena bombing has criticised the fire service for “failing” to respond to the immediate aftermath of the explosion. @johno4501 said: “As much as the Manchester arena report doesn’t make good reading in some parts we must never forgot the scores of brave individuals who went to help, including the emergency services.” @klipperty added: “I don’t think the fire services should be blamed for not doing the best they could at the Manchester arena bombing. Blame the government for cutting back the service they provide.” @mambo_tango wrote: “Never going to slag off the fire service, paramedics or any first responders. They’re heroes. If mistakes have been made, then the government needs to make sure that they’re funded properly and they’re getting the adequate training.”
