City set to get ten-minute Avengers film role

Edinburgh is to get a tenminute starring role in Avengers: Infinity War, co-director Joe Russo has revealed.

A year after filming the superhero spectacular in the city with his co-director brother Anthony, he returned to reveal 20 minutes of footage more than two weeks ahead of the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles.

Expectation was high in the audience at Cineworld of an exclusive glimpse of the city only for Russo to warn that they will have to wait.

He said: “I want to thank Edinburgh for being such an incredible host to my brother and I and our crew. It was an amazing shoot.

“When you see the movie you will see about ten minutes of your beautiful city shot as Edinburgh. There are some pretty important sequences here.”
