Brian Wilson set for Summer Sessions

● Organiser lines up more acts to appear in capital’s August event

Bastille, The Vaccines and The Lafontaine­s have been added to the line-up of new music festival the Edinburgh Summer Sessions.

Organisers have also added Brian Wilson Presents Pet Sounds, The Ark, Grace Carter, Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin to the bill of the event, which runs over six days in August.

They join a line-up which already includes Sir Tom Jones, Rag’n’bone Man, Paloma Faith and Kasabian.

The shows will take place at the Ross Bandstand in West Princes Street Gardens on dates between 6-19 August during Edinburgh’s summer arts festivals season.

Wilson is a legend of the music scene. Following success in the 1960s and 1970s with the Beach Boys he has had a lengthy solo career with 11 albums including his most recent, No Pier Pressure.

The Lafontaine­s, who hail from Motherwell, were on the bill for last year’s TRNSMT festival in Glasgow, and are currently touring their second album in the UK and Europe.

Indie rockers and Brit Award winners Bastille recently collaborat­ed with Craig David on the UK Top 10 hit I Know You.

Since their debut album was released in 2011, The Vaccines have sold more than a million records worldwide, as well as touring with The Rolling Stones and Arctic Monkeys.
