Renault launches limited edition Clio RS

-

Renault has announced details and pricing for a special edition version of its Clio hot hatch. The Clio RS 18 is inspired by this year’s Renault Sport Racing Formula One car and is one of the most exclusive Renault Sport models ever sold, with just 15 righthand- drive examples coming to the UK. Based on the Clio RS 220 Trophy, the limited edition version will be priced at £ 24,295 and orders opened this week. The Clio RS 18 has the same engine and transmission as the Clio RS 220 Trophy – a 1.6- litre 217bhp engine with a six- speed dual- clutch automatic – but also gets the usually optional Akrapovič sports exhaust as standard. It stands out compared with the rest of the Clio Renault Sport range thanks to its Deep Black and Liquid Yellow colour scheme. The Renault diamond, RS logo and rear diffuser are all finished entirely in Black Gloss and RS 18 diamond decals on the front doors and roof reference the look of the RS 18 Formula One Team car. Liquid Yellow detailing on the front blade, protective side mouldings and wheel centre caps add a splash of colour to the exterior. At the same time the French manufacturer has also confirmed pricing for the new Megane RS. The 276bhp Megane costs from £ 27,495 and comes with four- wheel steering, and a choide of Sport or Cup chassic setups. Buyers opting for the more trackfocused Cup package also get a limited slip differential, stiffer springs, dampers and anti- roll bar and red brake calipers.
