Dundee striker Simon Murray is still in the dark over his future at parent club Hibs.

Murray was farmed out to Dens Park late on deadline day in the January transfer window after the Edinburgh side secured a late move for midfielder Scott Allan in the opposite direction.

The striker was the club’s top scorer at the time and remains so with 14 goals in the first half of the season – he has added only two since his move – but he has had no discussions with either Dundee or Hibs regarding his future beyond the next week.

It is an important three games coming up for the Dee with the club one win away from virtually securing safety ahead of next season, and a clash with fellow strugglers Hamilton today. “At the moment I’m fully concentrating on getting this week over with and getting the right results and keeping Dundee up in the Premiership,” he said. “Once that is over with, we can sit and talk things through.”

Murray, pictured, added: “My agent has roughly spoken to them, but they are involved in their season at the moment.

“Once this week is over and there are no games left, hopefully we can have a sit down and see what’s happening.”

Murray’s arrival was seen as a coup for a Dundee side short on goals, but since hitting a double in his third game, he has failed to hit the back of the net and is likely to be called upon to lead the attack against Accies in the possible absence of Sofien Moussa today. Of his struggles, Murray said: “I’ve only scored a couple of goals. It would have been nice to score a few more but I feel like I’ve been playing well in the games, I’m maybe just missing a goal or two.”

Accies striker Rakish Bingham knows the significance of a victory on Tayside as the relegation battle hots up.

“It gives us a great chance of surviving,” he said. “Victory over Dundee would help put us in a much better position than we are now.”
