Par for the course: Rare golf trophy set to be sold for thousands as it goes under the hammer
Auction house staff Hamish Wilson and Amanda Dovesi at Bonhams in Edinburgh take a closer look at a replica Ryder Cup. The cup was presented to all living European Ryder Cup players by the Professional Golfers Association in 2001 to mark its centenary. This version, once owned by Sergio Garca, is estimated to sell for between £6,000 and £8,000 and will go on sale in the Bonhams Sporting Sale next week. However a similar trophy, presented to Scottish golfer Harry Bannerman in the same year, sold for more than £11,000 at a Bonhams auction in the capital back in November 2014.
