Law firm eyeing further expansion in Scotland reports fee income jump
0 ‘Strong year’: TLT’S head of Scotland John Paul Sheridan A legal firm that has worked on a series of high-profile projects in Scotland and sees potential for further expansion north of the Border has reported a 10 per cent jump in fee income.
TLT, whose office network includes Edinburgh and Glasgow, said that on a provisional basis, fee income reached £82 million for 2017-18, its first full financial year since the launch of its strategy to 2020.
It said activity levels were up across its transactional, advisory and disputes services, driven by new client wins and increased support for existing clients.
The firm in the 12 months also announced a partnership with US technology company Legal Sifter to launch a “combined intelligence” solution for contract negotiation.
In the last year, it has acted on high-profile work in Scotland including advising Trig on its £20m investment in an energy storage unit in Scotland; acting for the funder in the £30m redevelopment of Chesser House, Edinburgh; for Celtic in relation to the licensing aspects of its fan zone;for Blue Energy on the development of a large onshore wind project in Argyll, and on the acquisition of a pre-development wind project in South Lanarkshire.
