Mcinnes completes deal for midfielder Forrester

Aberdeen have completed a move to sign Peterborough midfielder Chris Forrester.

Dons boss Derek Mcinnes has been keeping tabs on the 25-year-old Irishman and has finally got his man after Forrester agreed a threeyear deal.

Forrester began his career at Bohemians and moved to fellow League of Ireland club St Patrick’s Athletic before completing his switch to Posh in 2015, where he racked up more than 100 appearances.

After making 58 appearances for the Under-21s, he received his first call-up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad in 2016 but is yet to win a cap.

Mcinnes told the Aberdeen website: “Chris is a player who has always caught my eye. He can play in a variety of positions, but he handles the ball extremely well and he will bring us flexibility in the midfield area.”

Meanwhile, Hamilton have forked out £750,000 to ensure their plastic pitch does not come bottom of the pile again in the new season.

The news comes 24 hours after the artificial turf at New Douglas Park was rated the worst surface among Scotland’s42seniorclubsfollowing a survey of players.

A study organised jointly by PFA Scotland, Sports Labs and the Scottish Football Association found topflight professionals gave the 3G turf an average score of only 1.18 out of five.

But Accies say they are investing in a new Greenfields MX pitch over the summer to ensure they do not find themselves embroiled in another turf controversy.
