Troubleinstore
I am surprised by the astonishment that high street closures are causing. As an older shopper, I remember when a visit to a major department store was a magical treat – orchestras in the restaurant, demonstrations in the kitchen department and more.
Inevitably older shoppers are seeing stores becoming far more utilitarian and less exciting, with staff training leaving a lot to be desired. I am happier to be called “Sir” rather than “Darlin’” when buying presents for my wife and I also like to feel that my custom is important.
No wonder we oldies retire to online shopping.
