Target met on modern apprenticeships
There has been little growth in the number of women taking up apprenticeships, new figures have shown.
A total of 10,451 women started modern apprenticeships in 2017-18, just four more than in 2013-14.
The figures from training organisation Skills Development Scotland (SDS) showed that over the same period the number of men starting an apprenticeship went up from 14,839 to 16,694.
Some 27,145 people started apprenticeships last year, meeting the Scottish Government target of 27,000.
