Mother and baby in High Street crossing scare

-

Police are trying to trace a driver who ignored a red light and came close to colliding with a mother and her 12-week-old baby on a pedestrian crossing.

The incident happened at about 11:15am on Thursday on the High Street in Selkirk. The 35-year-old woman was “quite shaken” by the incident, at the County Hotel towards Douglas Gilmour and Sons.

The car passed through the red light – heading north on the A7 – which police said could have caused a “very serious collision”. Police appealed for witnesses to help identify the male driving a 4x4 car.”
