Youth projects win £84,000 cash boost

Twenty projects in Aberdeen have been awarded grants worth more than £84,000 from the coun­cil’s Year of Young Peo­ple cul­tural awards pro­gramme.

It is aimed at de­vel­op­ing cre­ative projects in mu­sic, drama and other ar­eas of the arts. Some 15 or­gan­i­sa­tions and five in­di­vid­u­als have re­ceived grants.

The coun­cil ap­proved the pro­gramme af­ter with­draw­ing fund­ing from the Aberdeen In­ter­na­tional Youth Fes­ti­val.
