0 A new Scot­tish Na­tional Por­trait Gallery ex­hi­bi­tion is to ex­plore Scot­land’s chang­ing place in the world in the mid 18th cen­tury, as in­dus­tri­al­i­sa­tion and im­pe­rial ex­pan­sion helped the na­tion play a prom­i­nent role in Euro­pean cul­tural life. The ex­hi­bi­tion, en­ti­tled The Re­mak­ing of Scot­land, opens to­mor­row and will fea­ture in­di­vid­u­als who played ac­tive roles in Scot­tish life at the time, fea­tur­ing sculp­tures, paint­ings and draw­ings from the Na­tional Gal­leries of Scot­land col­lec­tion.
